Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors

Irving Levin is a serial entrepreneur and the Chairman of Genesis Financial Solutions. He divides his time between Genesis, investing in and mentoring small independent companies, and a variety of non-profit activities. Before founding Genesis, he started and led Renaissance Holdings, a credit card business which grew to 1400 employees before he sold it to Household International (now HSBC) in 2000. Before that he started the first credit card bank in the U.S. for ITT Financial. Through his investment vehicle Fluffco LLC, he is an active angel investor with direct investments in a large number of entrepreneurial companies. He serves as an informal mentor to many CEOs, and serves on the Boards of Directors of several private companies. Mr. Levin is active in the non-profit world. He has served on the Providence St. Vincent Hospital’s and Portland State University’s Foundation Boards, SMART, The Children’s Institute and a number of Portland area institutions. He is currently the Chairman of Digital Divide Data, a social enterprise in the IT industry which recruits, trains and hires hundreds of impoverished young people in Cambodia, Laos and Kenya. He and his wife, Stephanie Fowler, are co-Trustees of The Renaissance Foundation which focuses on enhancing educational opportunities for first generation and financially needy students. Mr. Levin is an occasional speaker on entrepreneurial and philanthropic subjects. He has four children and was once a professional classical musician.

Bruce is responsible for defining Genesis Financial Solutions' overall business strategy, and the execution of the business plan. Sharing his 20+ years of business operations and financial management experience with the Genesis team and our myriad of clients and customers; Bruce secures financing, allocates human and capital resources and drives the Genesis team to excellence. Prior to joining Genesis Financial Solutions, Bruce served as CFO for Credigy Solutions of Atlanta and as CFO and a Director of Wilshire Financial Services Group. He has also consulted privately, analyzing investments for industries ranging from investment banking, mortgage REITs, and distressed consumer receivables purchasing to direct response retail. Bruce serves on boards of several nonprofit community organizations and is a certified public accountant (inactive).

General Counsel

Robert oversees the Genesis Financial Solutions legal and compliance team. His experience in consumer lending-related financial and legal services spans more than 20 years, including positions at publically traded and privately held companies such as Visa, Education Finance Partners, Providian Financial Corporation and World Savings/Golden West Financial Corporation. Robert began his career as an attorney for the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

Patrick is responsible for all aspects of originations, servicing and partner support in the retail, healthcare, and educational markets. Patrick's experience as a Naval Aviator combined with his Six Sigma certification helped build the foundation of leadership and execution abilities necessary to drive Genesis’ near-prime and non-prime credit and lending programs. Layered upon this foundation of skills are years of professional experience. Prior to joining Genesis, Patrick acted as COO of Toyota F.S.B., overseeing credit card, mortgage, consumer and commercial lending operations. As Capital One’s Vice President of Customer Management, Patrick led portfolio segmentation, channel management, production and fulfillment for U.S. Card programs.

Gregg delivers over 15 years of experience to the Genesis Financial Solutions team. Preceding his CFO role, he served as SVP Treasurer where he was responsible for treasury, financing and reporting activities including: reporting, development and publishing operating plans, periodic re-forecasts and financial analysis for investors and partners alike. Prior to joining Genesis Financial Solutions, Gregg has held various corporate finance positions including serving Wilshire Financial Services Group, a sub-prime residential loan servicer.

George Alexander, Director

George has over 25 years of experience in credit card and consumer lending. As Executive Vice President of Renaissance Holdings, Inc., a private sub-prime credit card issuer sold to Household International in 2000, he was responsible for risk management, information services, card processing platform management, and recovery card programs. George was a founding member of the first single-purpose credit card bank, First Consumers National Bank and held senior management positions within the bankcard divisions of Citicorp and Bank of America. He volunteers on the Board of Directors for community-based and environmental non-profits.

Alan Blank, Director

Alan is an attorney who most recently served as Executive Vice President, Legal and External Affairs at Newmont Mining Corporation. He received his A.B. in 1978 and his J.D. in 1981 from Washington University in St. Louis. Alan serves on numerous charitable boards and committees, and currently resides in Washington, D.C.

Stephanie Fowler, Director

Stephanie is a well-known and award-winning journalist, and is also a licensed psychotherapist.  She graduated from Princeton University and earned a Masters in Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. She serves on the Oregon Board of The Nature Conservancy and is a Trustee of Lewis and Clark College and the Renaissance Foundation. She is involved in a number of non-profit programs and organizations.

Greg T. Mutz, Director

Greg is Chairman of the Board and CEO of AMLI Residential Partners, LLC, a multi-family REIT and wholly owned subsidiary of PRIME Property Fund, an institutional real estate fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate, Inc. Greg is a member of the Board of Directors for WAN S.A., a real estate company headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, and Suknip, S.A., a real estate company headquartered in St Petersburg, Russia. Greg is a Trustee for the Aston Family of Mutual Funds, a large group of mutual funds. Prior to founding AMLI, Greg was an officer with White, Weld & Co., Incorporated, a New York investment-banking firm and was associated with the Chicago law firm of Mayer Brown L.L.P.,. Greg served as an infantry lieutenant in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.

Kenneth M. Novack, Director

Kenneth is the Chairman of Avinger, Inc. a biotechnology company. He is also the former Chairman of Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. (NASDQ: SCHN) and Liberty Shipping Group, and former Chairman and CEO of Schnitzer Investment Corporation and Lasco Shipping Corporation. From 1982 to 1991, Kenneth was a partner at Ball, Janik & Novack (now Ball Janik LLP). Kenneth holds and has held a number of board member and advisory positions with entrepreneurial companies and nonprofit organizations. He is on the Board of Trustees for Claremont McKenna College, Eisenhower Medical Center (Rancho Mirage, California) and the Schnitzer Novack Foundation.
